My personal message:

Friends and Family,

As you probably know for many years now I have been an active member of the Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty.  Each year I learn more about the death penalty, and the more I learn, the more troubled I become.  I firmly believe that I must do what I can to end the death penalty, first in Texas and then beyond.

Contributing to TCADP is one of the best ways that we all can help in this cause.  TCADP is a growing and vibrant organization.  It started with a handful of volunteers -- amazing men and women that I'm honored to have gotten to know. Today TCADP has an office in Austin, a full time executive director, and a half-time staff member.

And TCADP's work is paying off.  The organization was a major player in getting a bill to abolish the death penalty introduced and a hearing in the House.  In the next session we expect even more progress.  We're educating and organizing, and it really is making a difference.

But making progress takes work and money.  As a member of the board of TCADP I've made a commitment to raise money for the organization and we're using this page to do it.  I need your help.  Please consider making a small contribution to the cause.  Actually, large contribution are also welcome. My stated goal is to get $1000.  My real goal is to get at least 50 people to contribute.

For each contribution I receive I will not run a mile, or walk to Washington.  Instead, for each contribution I receive I will carry out one random act of kindness in your name.  I'm thinking that I'll bake up a large batch of cookies and hand them out to strangers.  So click on the button and give us a few bucks.  Some kid will be very grateful.

Thanks for your support.

Rich Woodward
