Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, "We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future."  Helping our youth prepare for the future is the reason I volunteer.   Last year, many of you supported me in the first annual Silver Paddle Canoe race.  Because of your generosity, I was able to raise over $2000 for our local aquatics program and other council activities.  I thank you.  This year, I have accepted the position of volunteer committee chair for the event and once again request your support.  My aim is to help young men and women build self esteem and confidence in their abilities in a fun and supportive environment.  Your support provides us with the funds to outfit our program so the kids have positive experiences.
