Our Mission at Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley is to provide a home-away-from-home for families of critically ill or traumatically injured children.
Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley is located at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital in Valhalla New York. Ronald McDonald House is a non profit organization that provides overnight accomodations, meals and emotional support for families while they care for their hospitalized child. Our new house enables us to serve almost triple the amount of families we have in the past with an increased capacity to provide more programs to our families during their stay with us. We are very happy to once again serve families from the New York Tri-state area, the Hudson Valley region and throughout the country.
Families that stay with us typically have a child receiving care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Burn Unit or the Oncology floor. The length of stay varies from one night to three months, with the average stay being six nights. The families are asked to make a nominal donation of $15 per night, although this may be reduced or waived entirely if necessary. No family is ever turned away because of their inability to pay. It is because of our fundraising efforts and support from donors and the community that we are able to make this financial burden a little lighter for our families.
Our primary support comes from our community through fundraising events, local grants and foundations
