This will be my third year walking for the Southern NH HIV/AIDS Task Force. I have a great deal of respect for this agency, the wonderful staff,  and the work they do!This year I will be walking in memory of Tom Cash and Paul Bauer.

I first met Tom while working on a fundraising event for the Task Force. Tom was a volunteer for the agency and I was immediately attracted to his enthusiasm. Fortunately, I was able to get to know him for about a year before he became very ill and passed away.

I attended Nashua High School with Paul. We graduated in 1982 and our paths crossed again in 2007 when we worked together on the AIDS Walk! At that time Paul had just returned to the area and was volunteering. Tom was very ill and in a wheel chair by the time we had the walk, yet he still managed to raise over $100.00 in pledges. 

In 2008 Paul pulled out all the stops and made the 'Thomas Cash Memorial AIDS Walk' the most successful in the agency's history. Paul was now a full time employee of the agency and enjoying the role thoroughly. Then sadly and unexpectedly, Paul passed away in November of 2008.

Even though I have moved from Nashua to the northern part of the state, it is important to me that I return to Nashua and participate in the AIDS Walk in memory of Tom and Paul and the agency that they supported.
