Hello! My name is Rob and I am the Camp Director at the Florida Lions Camp.  As you may or may not know, the Florida Lions Camp is in desperate need of new funding sources.  With contributions down across the board, a summer with no campers is a real possibility for the first time since FLC opened it's doors in 1974.

If you know me, then you know what this camp means to me and why I have set this hefty goal.  The Florida Lions Camp has been my life since I first arrived in 1998.  The camp has helped me develop into the man I am today, it has given me friends to last a lifetime and it has given me the passion to commit my life to it's mission to create recreational and learning experiences to persons of all abilities, where everyone learns, plays and grows together and ability has no baring on the experience's outcome.

The money raised through this site will serve as donations to FLC's annual Walk-A-Thon on March 29th, 2008. This year’s theme will be “The Buddy Walk”, with our campers of varying abilities walking with someone close to them whose abilities may be different to their own.  Whether it is a family member, friend or sibling we are asking this of participants to emphasize the camp’s goal to not only  provide recreation and learning experiences for our campers with varying abilities, but to all involved in the lives of our FLC campers. 

Those who donate to my efforts will serve as my buddy this year. With all who have supported my efforts name's written on my shirt, I want to show everyone how many people believe in this camp's beautiful cause. It is your chance to be apart of this even if you can't make it to the event. 

For those who have been to camp, worked for camp or know someone who is involved with camp, you know why this camp's mission must continue.  Think of someone special you met at camp, think of an amazing experience you had at camp or think of how the face of someone you know lights up everytime they mention this camp.  Now think of denying these experiences to generations of campers to come.  Think if these experiences were denied from you. 

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
