Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!  While I have been a Horizons for Youth volunteer for 8 years, last September I joined the staff as Development Director.  Since then I have had a great time getting to know all of our students and the wonderful work of our organization.

Horizons for Youth serves children and families who live in Chicago neighborhoods where high quality education is not available.  Families are selected to join our programs if they live within the City of Chicago, have at least one child between Kindergarten - 3rd grade, and if their family income is not more than twice the national poverty line. 

108 children are currently involved with Horizons for Youth, and 69 students have graduated from our programs.  Our alumni statistics are outstanding- 100% of our students graduate from high school and 80% continue on to college.  This is extremely remarkable since only 50% of African-American and Latino children graduate annually from Chicago Public Schools, and only 30% continue on to college.
