My personal message:

I wish that everyone could see the miracles that take place on a daily basis at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin . As medical director of pediatric neurosurgery at Children’s Hospital, I am inspired by the children and families I meet, their strength, and their courage.  Clearly, their actions encourage all of us to enjoy life to the fullest. It is on behalf of these children that Matt and I have taken on a new challenge – one never attempted by anyone in Wisconsin .

Matt and I have decided to tap into our love of flying, and combine it with our devotion to children, to create a different kind of fundraiser. On June 20th, 2006, flying a Cirrus SR-22 single engine airplane, we completed our goal for the flying portion of this fundraiser.  We landed at 104 Wisconsin airports in one day. This includes all the public, paved airports in Wisconsin, the Air National Guard base at Volk Field and one private airport (Lake Geneva Aire Estates).  Once made official, our flight should be a national record, but I’m hoping this adventure will serve a greater purpose of raising awareness and funds for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin .

Matt and I were supported by many people and organizations to help us with this mission. We have been humbled by the responses received when telling people this is “for the kids.” It seems we aren’t the only ones wanting to make a difference. We would like to give you a chance to make your own impact on the lives of children by supporting our Romp Around Wisconsin.
