It's Spring again and time for me to walk in order to help raise funds for the KIDS Center.
I want you to meet Audrey. She is one of the many kid that motivate me to walk. Audrey is 8 years old and was unfortunately born with a brain defect that left her with global delays. Her physical issues have not, however, diminished her bubbly (always smiling) spirit and strong determination to reach her potential. In the picture she is trying to hit the yellow button which causes the bubbles to be emitted from a bubble machine. This is the first step to learning how to use an augmentative speech device that will speak for her when she hits a designated button. IMAGINE having to go through all this effort just to say : "Hi, how are you?" Audrey will reach her goals but it will take a long time and a lot of support (both motivational and monetary).
You can help Audrey and the 700 other kids who are served by the KIDS CENTER for Pediatric Therapies. Your donation of support (whatever the amount) helps offset the annual $600,000 deficit we experience in order to subsidize the cost of long term therapies. We have a mission to not deny service to kids in need and we have a vision that within each disability there is ABILITY. You can help us keep that promise.
If you are uncomfortable with donating on line you can mail a check to me at 1763 Casselberry Rd, Louisville, Ky, 40205.
Thanks for your help from all the kids at KIDS. Likewise appreciate your own ability and cherish each day. If you would like to join us on the walk let me know. Also please feel free to forward this message to friends and family.
