Our personal message:

On September 12th I will be running in the second annual Run for Friendship - a benefit for The Friendship Club.

The Friendship Club helps disadvantaged girls in Nevada County, and this organization is very important to me. Having grown up in challenging circumstances, I know what a difference even one caring adult can make. As a board member for The Friendship Club I get to see firsthand how their comprehensive program truly transforms lives. One hundred girls participate in the program each year, and over 500 girls have been helped since the program started. 100% of the girls who have completed the program have graduated from high school and almost every girl goes on to college. You can learn more at  www.friendshipclub.org.

The Friendship Club receives no state or federal funding - their funding comes from individual donations and private grants. Every dollar directly supports the program - and every dollar really makes a difference. You were all incredibly generous last year and I hope that you will once again show our girls that compassion is recession-proof.
