In 2006 a very dear friend of mine (who would prefer to remain anonymous) was diagnosed with Carcinoid Cancer. Carcinoid is a deadly neuroendocrine cancer without a cure and for which chemotherapy is typically ineffective. So far she has survived the removal of half her lung and hundreds of small tumors that were attached. She now goes for routine body scans looking for the likely recurrence of these tumors in the same or other areas of her body while she waits for a cure.
My friend knew that I qualified to run the Boston Marathon this year and asked if I would be willing to raise funds for the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation. The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation was founded to support leading scientists whose research may lead to a cure for carcinoid. Of course, I said yes.
100% of all donations directly support carcinoid cancer research and are tax-deductible. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.Thank you very much for your support!
