Thank you for taking the time to check out my fundraising page. I will get right to the point. I need help. For the next two years, I will be running races to raise money for the "That Others May Live Foundation." Here is my version of Frequently Asked Questions:
Who are you?
I am an Air Force Pararescueman, and have been a part of Air Force Rescue and Special Operations for the last 19.5 years. Most of those years have been spent at operational Rescue or Special Tactics Squadrons around the world. Currently, I am in a Headquarters (HQ) position - a desk job! - and am working hard to stay connected to those out there on the battlefields around the world. I want to do my part to make sure my fellow rescue warriors have what they need to execute their assigned missions until I can go back out there myself. This fundraiser is a great way to stay connected to my rescue brothers and sisters as part of an ongoing effort to support them both at home and away on missions.
What is the "That Others May Live Foundation"?
The foundation awards scholarships to the children of men and women killed during training, civil peacetime missions (such as Hurricane Katrina relief efforts), or combat missions while serving in an Air Force Rescue unit. This fundraiser focuses on their families and will hopefully provide some peace of mind to all rescue warriors in harm's way. I am funding all of my race and travel expenses myself. Money collected here will go to the "That Others May Live Foundation."
Why running?
I love running. I love kids. I love rescue. Putting these things together seemed to make sense. I have two events scheduled so far, The Pittsburgh Marathon (26.2 miles) in May and the Laurel Highlands 50k (31 miles) in June. I see this as an ongoing effort so there will be more races in the future.
How can I help?
You can help me by donating money pure and simple. I like to think of it being tied to the mileage I intend to run. I will train everyday for these events. I will not take a day off, because deployed rescue warriors don't get days off. You can count on getting your money's worth with a "by the mile" sponsorship. Ten cents, 50 cents, $1 or more a mile will add up. You can donate before the events or wait until I post the results. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also tax deductable.
Please help me support our rescue warriors who volunteer to step in harm's way...That Others May Live.
