World Vision works to tackle the root causes of poverty by working with children, families, and their communities to provide things like: clean water, health care, nutritious food, education, and economic opportunities.

We went to "Step Into Africa" in March, an exhibit were participants use MP3 players to follow the experiences of a child in Africa affected by AIDS.  Toward the end of the exhibit, we had to wait in an African medical clinic to wait for the results of the child's HIV test.  It was a very moving experience.

Russ is a "seasoned marathon runner, " but this is Helen's first.  Even more than raising money to help these children, we hope to be able to raise awareness of what these children and families go through.
