It is that time of year again for the 2009 4th Annual Lupus Walk at Kiwanis Park in Tempe on Sunday, November 8th. Registration (Fee $15-$30) begins at 8:00am, Family Fun Walk at 9:15am, and Competitive 5k Run at 9:00am. I hope that you all can support me again in my fight against Lupus and that someday soon there will be a cure for all of us that are battling this illness. Just when I thought I was handling my change in health well, I've had some medical challenges this year that have set me back. I was sick with pneumonia and a couple of bouts with bronchitis followed by a visit to a Pulmonolgist. After a CT scan and breathing tests, it was confirmed that I now have Chronic Asthma. I also recently had another intense vertigo episode and a sense of feeling off balance that sent me back to my Neurologist. I just completed more extensive testing and I have been diagnosed with Vestibular Meniere's Disease. Now, it does take alot to get my spirits down, but you all know I'm a survivor and a positive person with a strong will so I'm trying to rally myself to hang in there even when the odds seem to be starting to stack up against me right now.
To Russ, Brandon, and Justin I love you more than life itself. To my extended family, I love you so much and I know this is hard for you to accept and understand. To the friends that have stuck in there with me and you all know who you are, I love you and thank you for caring about me!! Someone once said, "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...It's about learning to dance in the rain".
