Sara had a great year! She was kept busy with basketball, soccer, choir, and of course, school work. She is now a middle schooler! Time has gone by so fast and Sara has been seizure free for another year!!!
In June Sara will attend Camp Oz for the 3rd year and is really looking forward to it. Sara also attended the Light up the Night event with us earlier this year. We heard from many people and families who talked about their experiences with epilepsy. On August 13th, the Goodno family will be walking in the Stroll for Epilepsy. Our goal this year is to raise $5000.
Each year we come into contact with more people who either have epilepsy or know someone who has experienced a seizure. Epilepsy is actually very common (2.5 million Americans have epilepsy and 50,000 Minnesotans have epilepsy). And for some people that have a difficult time controlling their seizures, it can be a very trying time for those affected by epilepsy. The Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota is a great organization to get information and support for families affected by seizures.
