On August 10 I will be running the Falmouth Road Race with the Babes Bookin' It charity group.  Babes Bookin'It are teams of women who understand and value the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle.   Our definition of "healthy and fit" expands beyond physical fitness and activity.   We believe that reading, books and imagination are essential elements to a healthy and fit life along with a positive sense of connection and commitment to our friends, teammates and community.

Babes Bookin'It  teams combine the personal goal and challenge of running a road race with raising funds for the Fit Girls grant program for pre-adolescent girls.    The Fit Girls program uniquely combines the training for a local 5k road race with reading and community outreach.  The funds we raise provides girls in underserved communities in Boston the opportunity to participate in this uplifting and life-changing program.

Your donation of $60 will allow ONE girl to participate in a Fit Girl program where we provide her with books, athletic clothing and supplies, fitness training and her entrance fee to a local 5k race!!!  Such a bargain for getting girls on track for a lifetime of self-confidence and healthy habits!

Contributions in any amount are fully tax-deductible and greatly appreciated.  I know this is the season of the charity athletic events, so I'm truly grateful for your consideration of yet another event!
