2004 was this departments first time participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run. In 2005 I was fortunate to attend the opening ceremonies for the winter games and the summer games. That’s when I had a chance to meet some of the athletes and make a few new friends. 
Every year I look forward for the Torch Run to begin. I can’t wait to see what crazy ideas come about to raise more money than the year before. So far we have done pretty well, in 2004 we raised $2,477.00, in 2005 we raised $8,025.22 (placed 10th for the whole state of Ga.), in 2006 we raised $13,762.00 (placed 5th for the whole state) and in 2007 we raised $60,327.21 (placed 2nd for the whole state). In 2008 we were able to become #1 for the whoe state of Georgia by raising more than $74,000.00.
