The mission of Special Olympics Nebraska is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendships with their families, and other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Special Olympics Nebraska strives to make sure persons with intellectual disabilities have the chance to become useful and productive citizens who are accepted and respected in their communities. Currently, Special Olympics Nebraska serves over 3,000 individuals ages 8 to 83 in over 110 communities in Nebraska.

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Deputy Wheeler and Deputy Schickert have been doing the Cop on Top fundraiser for the past eight years. What is the Cop on Top fundraiser you ask? Two Sarpy County Deputy Sheriffs go up on top of a roof and live there for three days to raise money for the Special Olympics. They have been through rain, snow, freezing temps, and extreme wind, and when asked every year why, they say it is "for a very good cause". Lt. Grabowski, Lt. Griger, Cpl. Bishop, Dep. J. Wheeler, and Mr. Jenson have also been there every year to assist with the ground operations and show their support to the cause. PLEASE DIG DEEP AND DONATE ONLINE. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate to us. So please donate to us now! Many thanks for your support.
Thank you, Deputy Lance Schickert and Deputy Rick Wheeler
