THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING IN MAKING STRIDES FOR SPECIAL KIDS. ALTHOUGH THE EVENT IS OVER, PLEASE CONTINUE TO DONATE TO OUR PAGE UNTIL 12/15/2012.
Making Strides for Special Kids is a 5K Run/Walk and Kids' 1 Mile Sprint to raise funds for special needs children and their families in Lake County. This funding will enrich the educational, vocational, and social opportunities for children with disabilities.
This event will be like no other. In addition to the 5K run/walk and kids' sprint, we will feature a capable/handicapable event. Capable runners and walkers will partner with special needs runners/walkers/wheelchair participants to experience a “race” – many for the first time.
Chip timing for the 5K will be provided by Lakeshore Athletic Services.
This year, two fantastic prizes will be awarded. A $250 cash prize will be given to the youth team with the most participants and to the youth team with the most funds raised above $250.
Packet Pickup Required:
If you were unable to come to Packet Pickup on Thursday, September 13, please be at Independence Grove by 7:30 a.m. Saturday, September 15 to pick up your registration packet, bib number, and t-shirt before the 5K kicks off at 8:30 a.m.
