31 May - I ran the race and made it without being pushed, pulled or carried to the finish line. Found a nice pace and finished in a time of 45 min and 30 secs for the 4.4 mile course.  Was a good time to reflect about some of the kids I know who will benefit from the money raised in support of the TOML Foundation. Thanks to everyone who have or will sponsor me and my running partner/neighbor Keith Brelia for the Eglin AFB Gate-to-Gate run on Memorial Day.  It was a perfect way to honor our military personnel killed in wartime and an excellent venue to reach out to others to gain support for their children left behind.

1 May - I have been in training to run the Eglin AFB Gate-to-Gate run on Memorial Day in honor of all the men and women who have given their lives in service to their country.  Specifically I am proud to run in support of the That Others May Live (TOML) Foundation.  This foundation provides post secondary education assistance to children whose US Air Force parents or guardians were killed in a combat rescue or personnel recovery mission, training, or other personnel recovery collateral mission.

As many of you may know, I was involved in this mission for over 20 years and deeply believe that we must help take care of our own. I personally know many of the children who have lost a parent who was performing one of the most honorable missions the US military conducts - putting their life at stake to save someone else. These warriors made the ultimate sacrifice and their children deserve our help.

Running the Eglin Gate-to-Gate Run (no small task for Todd since 'running' isn't really my favorite thing) and collecting donations from sponsors is just one way we can help. I have asked some friends to join me in this effort and very grateful to have some company during the run. Keith Brelia and Rodney Huffman are both joining in on the race and I can only hope I can keep up with them (or get them to carry me the last mile or so!)

I'm not asking for much -- just skip few beers this weekend and put that $5-$10 dollars toward this important effort. Every little bit helps.
