Greetings!  Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Portland Walk for Farm Animals.  I'm really excited about this event.  It's for a cause I am deeply commited to and it's the first time it's happening in Portland!    

As you know, the lives of factory farmed animals are brutish and short.  We can help change that!  Farm Sanctuary, who will receive the funds from this walk, is a pioneer in this effort.  I met the founders when they were just getting started, selling soy hot dogs at Grateful Dead concerts to raise money to set up a farm where abused animals could live out their natural lives.  They made their dream come true, and now Farm Sanctuary provides refuge to thousands of animals on farms in New York and California, and has become one of the nation's leading advocates for legislative reforms in factory farming.  They are inspiring to all of us who hope to make positive change in our world.
