Friends, Family and Colleagues

Last year some smooth talkin' friends convinced me that joining a 12-person relay (team "Sponge Bob No Chance"), running for 24 hours and 199 miles from Calistoga to Santa Cruz, would be fun. Even though I am all too familiar with the limitations of my aging infrastructure and am smart enough to know better, the cause was one that I could totally rally behind - raising money to promote organ donation. Two men that I adore have been successful organ donation recipients. Additionally, in the unlikely event that my body parts are in reasonably good shape when I "check out," I am a registered organ donor.

Notwithstanding last year's sprained ankle - running in the dark, a headlamp pointed in the wrong direction, a lurking pinecone - May 2 to 3, against my better judgment, I will be running the relay again.

While the roster is full and I can't invite you to join me on the run, please consider supporting the promotion of organ donation through a contribution to Organs R Us.
