The Shelter of Flint helps more than 1,100 individuals, children and families annually. Your help allows us to continue our mission of providing emergency, temporary and permanent supportive housing for the less fortunate. We don't just give them a place to stay, we give them the tools they need to become independent and self-sufficient members of our society. We are unique in that we are availalbe 24/7 and offer support services to help the homeless regain control of their lives and find a long term solution to their homelessness. We encourage and help these individuals hurdle their obstacles and help them find the right path. In many situations, it is out of their control, perhaps their landlord lost their home to foreclosure forcing them out, or even a fire in which they not only lost their possessions - they've lost their place to call home. We offer them the proper assistance to get them back to where they were and eliminate their homelessness. We can't do that alone, we need the support of our community and friends like you.
