In 2008 I decided to give the money I would spend on getting manicures for myself and instead make donations to the NHSPCA.

I have to tell you it felt so much better than any manicure I ever got for myself,  To see the words "I Was Adopted" made the pain of the hangnails I accumulated just disappear.

So, I have decided to continue my commitment in 2009.  My manicurist no longer speaks to me, but that's alright.  Knowing that in my small way I am being part of the solution to finding homes for the deserving animals that find their way to the NHSPCA is a gift I give myself.

So won't you join me, take my challenge.  Give up even one of your own manicures and make a donation to the NHSPCA.  And for all you guy animal lovers, you may not get a manicure but do you really need another power tool?
