UPDATE (9/11/08)

Thanks to the incredible generosity of my friends, family and some complete strangers, I have reached my fundraising goal! I am awed and humbled by the outpouring of support everyone has shown. If you would still like to donate, please know that your money will still be used for this trip! Anything over the required amount will go toward toys for the children we will visit--or it might help another volunteer with their expenses. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The Heart Touch Project has been bringing compassionate touch to the ill and isolated for over ten years. And as some of you know, I have been a volunteer with them for a few years now. It has been one of the most incredible experiences of my life. The power of a loving and compassionate touch continues to amaze me, especially when I work with children and infants. Through their organization, I have the opportunity to bring compassionate touch to the children in AIDS hospices in Cambodia this November. And I can't think of a group of children who need touch more than these little ones.

We hope to provide some comfort to these infants and children who are alone, isolated and untouched in the final days of their lives. We will also be teaching their caregivers massage techniques so that they may continue what we start on our trip.

Your donation is tax deductible. It goes to The Heart Touch Project and to my personal account with them which will enable me to visit and bring compassionate touch to the abandoned orphans with AIDS in Cambodia.
