I invite you to help me raise money and awareness for the Pine Street Inn of Boston, New England's largest resource for homeless men and women, by pledging to the First Annual Pine Street Inn Knit-A-Thon. Though best known for its emergency shelters, Pine Street became one of the first organizations to implement supportive housing for homeless individuals. Today, Pine Street has 425 tenants in 25 houses and sites throughout Boston and Brookline. During the coming year they anticipate adding another 80 units.
Many Boston area knitters and I will join together Sunday, November 4th to assemble our 9 x 9 inch pre-knitted squares into blankets, which will be presented to the tenants of the Pine Street Inn residences. I anticipate knitting 50 squares for the event. I ask that you donate on a per square basis; i.e. 50 squares x $1.00 = $50.00 or feel free to make the donation of your choice. Thank you in advance for your help and I invite you to visit the Pine Street Inn's website at www.pinestreetinn.org for more information.
