Thank you for visiting Simon's Birthday Lemonade Stand fundraising page!
Simon would have turned nine years old on May 17, 2006. But Simon died when he was seven on August 6, 2004 of a cancer called neuroblastoma. His death came just 5 days after Alex Scott died of the same terrible, and often incurable, disease. We are forever grateful to Alex and her family for founding this fine organization to raise money to support research to cure all pediatric cancers.
On May 17, 2006 we raised $1190.70 in just three hours at our local Lemonade Stand at Liberty Heights Fresh in Salt Lake City, Utah! Combined with a donation of 10% of the day's sales in the store, our total donation to Alex's Lemonade Stand has reached $1662.63. At a similar event on Simon's Birthday in 2005, we raised $1200. See Simon's Place for photos of the 2005 event.
We hope to make an even bigger donation this year in honor of Simon's birthday, and you can help us do that! Those of you who couldn't join us in person at our Lemonade Stand can make a donation here on this site. We have set the goal of $800 to see if we can match the generosity of Salt Lakers who came to last year's event.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is an efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts--although you're welcome to send a check directly to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation to avoid any concerns you have about donating online.
Many thanks for your support. We'd be grateful if you would forward this web link to anyone who you think might want to donate, too!
Thank you, thank you, thank you,
Mary, Markus & Miriam
