SIT STUDY ABROAD
GLOBAL RECIPROCITY FUND
SIT Study Abroad's (www.sit.edu/studyabroad) model of international education is grounded in the host communities and organizations with which we work. To support these communities and partnerships, we are expanding efforts to fund local initiatives in healthcare, the environment, education, and more through its new Global Reciprocity Fund.
While many SIT students already give back through community service, the Global Reciprocity Fund will support specific, grassroots projects designed by local communities and based on their needs.**
How it Works:
If you click on Get Started above you'll see the eight projects we are currently raising support for in Africa and Latin America (note: these are just our pilot projects; we will be adding more from other locations at a later time.) You can start your own fundraising page for any one of these projects. To the right of the Get Started button where it reads Want to Donate? you can also view or search for existing fundraising pages and donate to one of them.
Step By Step:
- Click Get Started above to fundraise for one of eight reciprocity project.
- Select a project you'd like to raise money for.
- Sign up and create a personal fundraising page where you can share your experience using your own words and photos. Be sure to share your personal story of why you chose the project.
- Email your friends and family, post on your Facebook page, blog, etc. and start partnering with local communities to make a difference. Firstgiving's site has lots of tool and ideas for making your fundraising effort successful.
