6th Annual Guardian of the Flame Hockey Tournament
The Guardian of the Flame Hockey Tournament is organized by Law Enforcement Officers and Deputy Sheriffs from across Colorado, each volunteering their time and talents to make this event an annual success for Special Olympics Colorado. Last year, players and teams from the Jefferson and Adams County Sheriff's Office, the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office, the Colorado State Attorney General's Office, Colorado Parole Officers, the Lakewood, Boulder, Denver and Aurora Police Department, Air National Guard, the F.B.I., Denver and Colorado Springs divisions, all played to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Colorado.
The entry fee is $750 for a team of thirteen players. There are three divisions, A, B, and C with A being the highest level. Individual players are welcomed and will be placed on a team as available. All players must be 21 years of age or older.
Teams compete on the ice for bragging rights and off the ice by raising the most money in the form of sponsors and donations.
