We are extremely proud to announce that three Special Olympics Georgia athletes and one Special Olympics Georgia coach, Marnie Hornsby, Sissy Cooley, Aidan Abowd, and Tara Torbert, have been selected as members of Team USA for the 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea!

WHEN:  January 29 - February 5, 2013

WHO:  3,300 Athletes and Coaches from 112 Countries

SPORTS:  Alpine Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Snowboarding, Snowshoeing, Ice Speed Skating, Ice Figure Skating, Floor Hockey, and Floor Ball

    Speed Skating - Sissy Cooley, Colquitt County Athlete

                               Aidan Abowd, Dekalb County Athlete

Marnie, Sissy, and Aidan will experience world-class competition by competing against other athletes from countries across the globe, and in the process, life-long friendships will be formed! Marnie, Sissy, and Aidan have trained and competed for years in order to achieve the opportunity to travel to the World Games.
