Strut for the Mutts or Pedal for the Pets
Every step or pedal will make a huge difference in the life of a pet at the Shelley Frith Drane Adoption Center. In addition to the walk and bike ride, the 2012 Mutt Strut will also feature dog agility demonstrations, K-9 detection dog demonstrations, a multi-part competition among law enforcement K-9s and their handlers, plus a variety of vendors, a beer garden, and activities for the whole family including a doggie costume contest. You’ll also get to hang out with our guest host Josie from 107.5 KZL! Children 12 and under get in free. Early-bird registration ends March 31. Rain date for the event is April 15 at the Martinsville Speedway.
How to Form a Pack
Have a group of friends who would like to participate together? Form a pack (and come up with a team name) and compete for great fundraising prizes too (packs should be limited to 8 members max)! Everyone on the team needs to specify which team they are on by putting the team name on the registration form. Get creative and have fun, just make sure everyone is in agreement and can specify which team they belong to so we get the right prizes to the right team. Make sure to make your page and communicate with your team and supporters.
There will be an hour long bicycle ride on the Martinsville Speedway track, and a 12-mile and 30-mile road ride! Whether you are an experienced rider or are just off training wheels, you can come out and test your skills on or off the Speedway. There will be a ride after the event for anyone interested.

· Please utilize all necessary safety gear and ride at a safe speed.

HOW YOU HELP!
This past year, nearly 2,300 animals in our care were given a second chance at new and loving homes. Thanks to generous people like you who share our passion for animals, the Martinsville-Henry County SPCA (SPCAMHC) has not only been able to find new homes for thousands of animals, but also been able to provide affordable, accessible low cost spay/neuter services to over 2,400 families in need every year.
The Martinsville-Henry County SPCA is a private, non-profit organization not affiliated with any national group that shares a similar name. We are only able to help because of the generous support of people like you in our community. We rely 100% on donations from people and companies who care.
The Martinsville-Henry County SPCA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people and animals in our community. We have The Shelley Frith Drane Adoption Center where 2,000 animals are received, rehabilitated and rehomed annually. We provide low cost spay/neuter/rabies vaccines opportunities to citizens on any form of public assistance on a weekly basis. Humane Education and Pet Therapy is our all volunteer run program, visiting all area long term care facilities and schools monthly. Our SPCA is completely funded by people who love animals and want them to be healthy, happy and loved in return.
