Think you're fun? Take the test! Last year more than 1,700 spirited people participated at this unique and memorable event! Whether you go knee high, waist high or take the full plunge, all are welcome to attend!

Each participant is required to raise a minimum of $125 to support the programs enjoyed by our nearly 5,000 Special Olympics Chicago athletes throughout the year. Plungers will receive a souvenir t-shirt and a warm towel when exiting the water!  Participants must be 16 years or older to participate.

Last year, our repeat top fundraiser, Jen Kramer, raised nearly $25,000 and Team Liquid Courage, led by Captain Mike Yonk, raised more than $33,000!

It's quick and easy to set up your personal fundraising page. You will receive a link that you can send to friends and family so that they can make a secure online tax deductible donation. All online donors will receive an immediate acknowledgement and receipt thanking them for their support! Just click on the above "Join Now" link to get started.

Plungers will enter the water in groups of approximately 30 people.  You will be able to select your preferred wave start time: 10:00am - 10:30am - 11:00am - 11:30am

 

BUS INFO FOR TEAMS:  We will provide a free round trip bus for your group of 20 or more so start recruiting friends and family and make the Polar Plunge an annual tradition!  When everyone on your team of 20+ has set up their personal fundraising pages, email Bridget at bconway@sochicago.org to let her know your pick up location, the time you want to be picked up and the time you want to depart North Avenue Beach following the Plunge.

 

TEAM INFORMATION: If you are going to be the captain of the team, you simply have to name your team when prompted during the registration process as you set up your personal fundraising page.  All members will have to register and create pesonal fundraising pages. They will have the option of selecting your team name so that their fundraising efforts are linked to the team page. All team members will be required to also raise $125.
