The 2nd Annual Spectrum Ride was a huge success!

Over 140 riders joined us on Sunday, October 3 at Dorset Park in South Burlington to ride and support Vermont’s at-risk youth that Spectrum serves.  It was a gorgeous fall day and our supporters came out in full force.  Spectrum would like to thank everyone who rode and raised money to support our programs; we netted over $22,500 and the donations are still coming in (tell anyone who might be interested in making a post-ride donation to visit www.firstgiving.com/spectrum).

A huge round of thanks go to the over 50 volunteers that helped lend a hand!  Without our volunteers this event could have never taken place.  Tim Kavanagh of WCAX emceed the event and kept everything moving smoothly!  Tim’s buddy, the actor Luis Guzman and his family also joined us for the Family Ride!  Special thanks to John Bodnar for helping to arrange for the Guzman family to spend the day with us.

After the Ride we enjoyed the music of two local bands, the Rosesmiths and the Dirty Watts as well as tunes from DJ Disco Phantom.  Food was provided by Boloco and Healthy Living and Doubletree Hotels donated over 250 fresh baked chocolate chip cookies – they were still warm!  We had a number of local businesses that spent the afternoon with us, promoting their products and services including Seventh Generation, Small Dog Electronics, One Revolution Vermont, and Long Trail Physical Therapy!

100% of the proceeds from The Spectrum Ride benefit Specctrum’s work to help our community’s at-risk youth access the immediate needs of food, counseling, clothing, shelter and so much more.  Visit us at www.spectrumvt.org to learn more about how we help our community!
