Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page!
As you may know, I am running in the Phoenix Marathon to support the Phoenix Children’s Hospital and my honor patient, Logan Harman (aka Logibear).
Logan was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy type 1. It is the #1 genetic killer of children under the age of 2. Logibear is 16 months old!
SMA is a very fatal disease, but it can be contained. Currently, there is no treatment or cure for SMA. Through hard work, determination, donations and the dedication of families and doctors, there are currently three avenues of cure and two for treatment of SMA. Hopefully, within 5 years SMA will no longer be an incurable disease.
Logibear uses a suction machine for secretions, a feeding tube for eating, a BiPAP for sleeping. Even though
Logan can't sit up, eat by mouth, hold his head up, use his arms, walk, or even crawl, he's the happiest child you will ever meet. SMA doesn't affect the brain, therefore he is totally smart and highly intelligent.
I had an opportunity to meet Logibear and his parents, Chris and Shelle Harman. Their courage, devotion and love is an inspiration that has motivated me to raise as much money as possible for SMA. So PLEASE open your hearts and wallets to support Logibear and SMA. In return, I will do my best in running the marathon for your generous donations. For more information on Logan, you can visit his website.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
