What a year this has been already.......I am sure you will all understand when I say I can't wait for this year to be over.  For those of you who don't know,  I was diagnosed with breast cancer for the 2nd time on January 4, 2009.  I have undergone a double mastectomy and reconstruction and I am about to start chemotherapy which will last thru the middle of July.  I have been really great about everything but that stinking chemo part.  I have learned that I am vein and honestly scared!!!!!!!  I was beginning to think the "S" would fade from my cape, however, I was lucky enough to stumble upon the Cancer Support Center in Mokena.  They have been a saving grace for my crazy thoughts.  I am able to talk to people who are going through the same situation, I have yoga, meditation and support groups at my finger tips and they ask me for nothing.  I am so blessed to have such a great support system, my husband is #1 and my family is nothing less than incredible, my friends are pillars of strength and have done so many nice things for me and my family during this time and now I have made a new friend in the Cancer Support Center.  So this year I have decided that I would like to give back to them.  I know in these trying times it is hard to make ends meet, that is why I am asking that you pledge to my team what you can afford, whether that is $1.00, $5.00 or $25.00, it will all go to such an incredible place.  For those of you who want to join Team: Saving Second Base and either walk or run with us, you are welcome with open arms and a big hug.  I appreciate you all and thank you for your ongoing support, encouraging words and most of all thanks for being there......
