will run the 

Lake Placid Iron Man

for Standing Tall!

 

 

On Sunday, July 22, 2012, Dan Taylor will run the Lake Placid Iron Man behalf of Standing Tall.

 

Ironman Lake Placid is an Ultra distance triathlon consisting of:

* 2.4 mile swim

* 112 mile bike

* 26.2 mile run

 

Standing Tall is an independent non-profit, Conductive Education school in New York City for non-verbal students with severe neuro-motor disorders.

Standing Tall is unlike any other school in New York.

 

Every morning, the kids get out of their wheelchairs –

even though none of them can walk.

 

They tell us what they think,

even though none of them can speak.

 

They can’t manipulate pens or pencils,

but they do math, science and language.

 

They can’t sing or dance,

but they put on plays and musicals.

 

They can do all this because of teachers who believe these kids can accomplish more than anyone thought possible.

 

And because of this belief, they do.
