URGENT- Please Help Feed Our Horses!!
There is one thing about a rescue ranch that does not change- horses must eat! Our last shipment of hay is getting low and we are concerned about paying for the next one in a few weeks. We are being asked to take so many desperate, starving horses and they all need hay!
In fact, we are picking up two skinny horses today. A guy called us a few days ago and told us that he has lost his job, can no longer feed his two horses, and they are starving. The situation is so bad that he is concerned about being charged with animal cruelty.
What could we say? Cheryl, our Ranch Manager, is on her way this morning.
We have the room, we have the staff, but the hay needs to be purchased. Each semi of hay is $6,000.
Please be an angel and consider sponsoring hay for a horse or two. It costs us about $150 per month to feed a horse.
We thank you, the horses thank you.
10/9/07 We have just taken in 4 wonderful, sweet horses from a children's riding camp in Washington State. Scooter, Skeeter, Kalipso and Mariah were about to go to auction. Since they each have issues that would limit their "usefulness", they would have gone to slaughter. We are taking in horses every week, and the thought of any of these gentle beings suffering through the horrendous slaughter process in Mexico breaks my heart.
