One Step Closer to a

Forever Home!

Please join me at the Walk of Love/9K for K9's July 18th, Saturday at 9:30am at the Blue Star Memorial Park in Glenview in support of the animals waiting for their forever homes.

Dotti (my dog in the photo on the top left) was rescued from a neglected home in Indiana then brought to Heartland Animal Shelter. The very next day, Dotti was in her new home at the Preisers.

Dotti has been a registered therapy dog since 2007 and we've visiting nursery homes ever since.  The residents are delighted with her company as she brings so much joy into people's lives that I can not even begin to explain.

Dotti represents many dogs that just need dedicated companionship and love. In return, they will give back much more.

I will be running in honor of the many homeless animals in need. Please help support the animals and join me in the never ending journey to help find dogs like, Boscoe (Walk of Love Mascot) and his friends, forever homes.

As most of you already know, a majority of our rescues are from kill-shelters. We have faced many more challenges this year, 2009, with abandoned pets due to foreclosures and we desperately are in need for your continued commitment to help support our mission!

At Heartland Animal Shelter, we provide our homeless animals with shelter, food, medical care, compassionate nurture and never-ending love. The truth is they give us back so much more than what we can offer them. We just hope that we can continue to ease their stay as much as possible until they go into their forever, loving home.
