The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to assure the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease.

Hello Friends!

Once again, I am asking for help to raise money for a cause that is very important to me, Cystic Fibrosis.

Pictured to the right, you can see me with my sons Mike & Ryan, and Mike's fiancee, Emily. Emily has Cystic Fibrosis, a life-threatening genetic disease for which there is no cure. CF takes almost 500 lives each year. 2500 new cases (mostly children) are diagnosed each year. There are currently 30,000 people in the US living with CF.

CF impairs the respiratory and digestive systems of those afflicted. Medications and treatments can help manage the symptoms, but become less effective as chronic infections weaken the lungs. Many advances in treatments have been made in recent years. Average survival rates have gone from 25 years in 1985 to 37 years today. But we want Emily around even longer, and raising money for CF is our way of trying to do that!

In the past, we have ridden in fundraising events in Massachusetts and Maine, but this year we're going all out and have organized our OWN ride here in Connecticut on May 31st, called 65 Miles for 65 Roses.  We're working overtime to make this event a success, and are asking everyone we know to help us if they possibly can.

Your donation will be well-spent. Over 90 cents from every dollar raised goes directly to research and medical programs.
