Welcome!   Thank you for your interest to help raise funds for Sudanese leaders who want to bring peace, justice and education to South Sudan.  Sudan Sunrise is working to fulfill former NBA humanitarian Manute Bol's dream to build schools in Sudan, beginning with a primary school for 400 children in his home village of Turalei.  Manute's vision was to build 41 schools to benefit the children of all tribes, regions and religions.  Sudan Sunrise partners with many Sudanese to bring the gift of education to South Sudan.

The illiteracy rate in South Sudan is over 85%, and many of the volunteer teachers have only a 7th grade education.  We need your help to build schools in Paloi, Turalei and Gor Ayen, to build a church in Kimotong, and to help the schools in Kimotong and Kajo Keji.  "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world". Nelson Mandela.

Get involved by creating an online fundraising page and ask your friends and family to contribute toward your fundraising goal.  Then, invite everyone to come together to celebrate as you work towards your goal to make a difference for the children in South Sudan.  Some fun ways to celebrate are: a day at the beach or park, a group ball game or sport, or BBQ.

You can make a HUGE difference for the people in South Sudan.  For example, if 500 people each rallied 10 people to donate $10 each, $50,000 would be raised towards building schools in South Sudan!  Each school costs about $240,000.  You can organize a run, walk-a-thon, benefit concert, bake sale, or other event and build teams to fundraise.  Or, hold a garage or yard sale and donate the proceeds, or sell items on eBay and donate the proceeds.  Plan ahead and promote your event!
