Hello, animal lovers.
It's time for the Humane Society's WalktoberFest. This year I will be participating in honor of Misty, Lyle, and Connery -- beloved pets lost just this past year.
And I will be thinking of Bitsy, of course, who is always with me in spirit.
I hope you will support me. Remember that every cent you donate stays in Nashua (and the surrounding towns under the Nashua Humane Society's jurisdiction). Nothing goes to any national organization. The need this year is more critical than ever. With the economic downturn, families find it necessary to surrender their pets in ever higher numbers. The Shelter is currently caring for over 252 felines -- the largest number of cats and kittens in its 109-year history -- and regularly brings in dogs from high-kill shelters in the South.
The Walk is Saturday, October 3, 2009, and I will happily accept your donation any time before the day of the walk.
See below for more information on the WalktoberFest and the Humane Society. And, as always, thank you for your support,
Sue
