Running
My mother is logging miles walked both outside and inside. I have recently stopped running, but hope to start back up soon and continue tracking miles.

Mom's Diagnosis
In December of 2007, my Mom, Patti Owens, was diagnosed with breast cancer. It wasn't long before doctors discovered that the cancer had spread to lymph nodes in her chest and to her lungs. Little did we know that she has been living with this for well over 8 years! My mother has been getting Mammograms every year, and not once have they caught this. This is why the research is SO crucial! Doctors have classified her to be in Stage IV. Due to other health issues, she is unable to undergo chemotherapy at this time. She is currently receiving hormone therapy to try and eliminate the existing cancerous cells in her body and prevent new ones from forming. At this stage, doctors believe that statistically, her chances for surviving more than 5 years is 10-20%. Although the odds are stacked against her...I strongly believe that she will pull through this! With the support of her friends/family, an admirably strong will to survive and Faith in God, I believe she will survive this!
I am tired of seeing family members struggle with this deadly disease. My mother has lost both of her parents and I am NOT about to lose one of mine.
