Imagine being told that you have an incurable disease that you have never heard of. What happens next?
Every day I am inspired by the multiple myeloma survivors and caregivers who beating-myeloma.org serves. Faced with this impossible situation, they do their best under intense pressure and emotional strain to arm themselves with the knowledge, advice, and support they need to navigate their circumstances.
My job is to help to give them the best place possible to meet, learn, and discuss strategies for managing their myeloma. I hope you can help me help them by sponsoring me in the beating-myeloma.org Talk-the-Talk, Walk-the-Walkathon.
Any amount is very welcome
Thank you!
Susan

Here’s a little more about founder David Emerson and beating-myeloma.org.
After David was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 1993 he underwent aggressive chemotherapy and radiation. When his cancer returned for the second time in two years, his oncologist told him nothing more could be done. He’s alive today because he used the internet to gather information and connect with other myeloma survivors. Through this process – social networking – he learned about the treatments and lifestyle changes that saved his life.
In 2004 he chose to use his experience to start a different kind of Foundation. The Galen Foundation and beating-myeloma.org motivate myeloma survivors to learn about their cancer and encourage individual choice. Social networking may be an unconventional focus for a non-profit, but from personal experience David learned that it works. Beating-myeloma.org helps hundreds of myeloma survivors live longer, better lives each and every day.
