Please join us Welby Walkers!
Come be a part of our team to raise money and awareness for epilepsy.
Every time I think I have said all there is to say about epilepsy, seizures and first aid, I see something on TV or someone says something incorrect about epilepsy and seizures. At this point I realize that this work is ongoing because misinformation has an incredibly long shelf life.
Parents of newly diagnosed children are still scared about this thing that has invaded their lives and wonder what the future holds for their children the same as Frank & I worried for Lauren. Adults are still trying to learn to live and work well with epilepsy and Lauren does her best to help people around her understand the facts about epilepsy and not to prejudge people's abilities and capabilities.
The biggest obstacle for a good quality of life for people with epilepsy is others' response to their seizures. Help the Epilepsy Foundation, of MA & RI increase understanding of a disorder that has a higher incidence than cerebral palsy, Parkinsons' disease and Multiple Sclerosis combined. Epilepsy is the third most common neurological disorder in the US after Alzheimer's and stroke.
Please visit me on facebook to see pix of the great wet walk of 2008 and sunnier pix of prior years. Thank you for your consideration.
