When you run for Miracles in Motion you are running to help raise money for Phoenix Children's Hospital. To keep the runners motivated and to remind them just how important it is to get out there and urge people to donate Miracles in Motion teams each runner up with an "honor patient". My patient is an eight year old boy named Emery.  His favorite sports are hockey, lacrosse, and baseball. He enjoys reading and playing games and his favorite colors are blue and green. His interests are that of most boys his age, but unlike most boys Emery is all too familiar with Phoenix Children's Hospital. Emery was born with VSD and Aortic Stenosis and in 2005 Emery underwent his 4th open heart surgery. Because of the amazing care given to Emery and his family, Emery is here today going to school and playing the sports he loves. No one can be certain of what lies ahed for Emery but we can know that whatever it may be he will survive the challenges that life has to offer because of the doctors and staff at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Emery and his family take one day at a time and feel blessed with the health he has and will worry about tomorrow when it arrives.

Emery is just one of thousands of children at PCH. But each donation, whether it's $5, $10, $20, or $100, will be money well spent because it goes to helping the past, present, and future children in need of the care that only Phoenix Children's Hospital can provide. There just is no other hospital like it in Arizona! Remember, no amount is too small.
