Hello! My name is Sylvia and I am a year-round office staff at the Florida Lions Camp.  Before I moved to Florida I lived in Michigan. I really love this job it is the most rewarding job that I have ever had. I anwers the phone, log in the donations that come in, write thank you letters and other office duties. I do'nt get to be with the summer camper to much but I always go and eat lunch with them. But at Christmas time I get to change hats and become the cook. I love being with them. They always tell me what a good cooker I'm. I love being here and I have learn a lot from the campers as well as the staff.   The camp has hit some hard times this year and donation are low, but we are not giving up we will keep going.  Now help me help the Florida Lions Camp.

It’s that time of year again, as the Florida Lions Camp prepares for its annual Walk-A-Thon.  Yes the picture says it all. Just a little older and just a little over weight. But that not going to stop me besides the younger staff said they would be my buddy if I get tired. Help me reach my goal of $750.00, and if you just happened to be in the neighborhood drop by and we will be glad to give you a tour.

This year’s fundraiser will be “The Buddy Walk”, participants will raise money this year by walking alongside a “buddy” of their choice, showing off their abilities.  Whether it is a family member or a FLC staff we are asking this of participants to emphasize the camp’s goal to not only  provide recreation and learning experiences for our campers with varying abilities, but to all involved in the lives of our FLC campers. 

If you sponsor one of the FLC staff members as your buddy they will walk in honor of you! With your name on their shirt. The staff at FLC is looking to raise more funds to help insure the Florida Lions Camp can further serve it’s mission, to help insure a better future for all by giving a world of good through camping and providing inclusive recreational programming for campers of varying abilities.
