HSTB primary purposes are the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals, humane education and provision of shelter-based services.
Mission:
The Humane Society of Tampa Bay was organized in 1912 and began operating a shelter in 1929. Since that time nearly one million animals have been given shelter. It is the goal of the HSTB to give the many animals sharing our community with us the respect, dignity and quality of life they deserve.
