Help Raise Awareness of Pets Being Kept Outside During Freezing Cold Winter Nights!

This is your chance to show concern for outside animals!

Saturday, December 11th, 8 p.m.-6 a.m.

TAILS Humane Society, 2250 Barber Greene Rd.

Participants will take position starting at 8:00pm and live outside without shelter for 10 hours during the frigid darkness of night. Some demonstrators will spend the entire 10 hours without shelter, others will commit to shorter periods of time, but all for the same reason; to raise awareness of the suffering felt by outside animals during the winter. 12:00 midnight will also mark the start of “30 Minutes Extreme” where demonstrators will have the opportunity to strip down to the bare necessities to experience 30 minutes of bitter cold!!

Why:
Each winter, thousands of pets in DeKalb County are kept outside. Many of these dogs and cats perish from the cold. Others suffer severe skin damage. Freeze Out 2010 will improve the lives of animals in the following ways:
  • Bring awareness to the suffering felt by outside pets.
  • Make owners aware of requirements for outside pets.
  • Raise funds to support TAILS’ efforts to educate, protect, and rehome.

How you can help:

In support of Freeze Out 2010, there are many ways you can become involved:
  • Participate in the demonstration for as little as 30 minutes or as much as 10 hours. and raise pledges at www.Firstgiving.com/TAILS during the holidays!
  • Come out to support the demonstrators throughout the night and share words of encouragement (especially during the bitter cold hours of 12:00am - 5:00am).
  • Donate money to help reach the goal of $5,000 to assist TAILS in caring for and rehabilitating outdoor pets brought into our facility.
  • Share the importance of properly caring for outside animals in your neighborhood.

Your voice will be heard – You will make a difference!!
