Thank you for visiting my fundraising page and thanks for giving, if you already have! So many of us have been affected by cancer, or know someone who has. My best friend, Jess (in the picture with me), just finished her radiation for breast cancer and is now on her tamoxifen for five years. Others have not been so lucky. It is so important for us to take nothing for granted, and thus, I ran this 5K (due to shin splints for 6 weeks), not just for myself, but to make a difference in others' lives as well. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! I finished my race in 44th place for my age group - out of 148 runners, and at an 8:58 minute pace. Not bad considering my loss of training time and that I forgot my inhaler that morning (oops).
Anyway, you can still donate money and it will count as a tax-deductible donation, so don't delay!
And in case you want to hear about more of my running escapades, check out www.drissman.com. My next race is the Turkey Trot 10K on Thanksgiving, and my FIRST marathon ever - the Walt Disney World Marathon on January 11, 2009!
