My personal message:

What is the CASA Kid Walk?

The CASA Kid Walk is an eight-week season during which Kid Walk Teams and Solo Superheroes raise awareness and funds for forgotten, abused children who need a permanent home.

Most teams begin fundraising after the Launch Party on Saturday, August 15th from 10am - noon at Carson Park in Eureka (H & Buhne). The Launch Party is an opportunity for team and solo-superhero walkers to compete for prize money toward their fundraising goals, pick up Kid Walk materials, and meet their mentor.

During the season, walkers of all ages raise awareness and funds in lots of fun ways, including holding bake sales, hosting dinners, setting out donation cans, getting sponsorships from friends and family, creating an online fundraising webpage, organizing fun events or activities, and more!.

Since it takes $1,000 to provide an abused child with a CASA each year, the suggested minimum goal for each team is $1,000.

The Seventh Annual Kid Walk takes place on Saturday, October 10th at the Eureka Veteran's Memorial Building.
5k walkers begin at 9:30, 2k walkers begin at 10, and all event participants complete the "Champions for Children Victory Lap" together starting at 11am.

100% of the money raised by this event stays in Humboldt County!

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! This is my 3rd year participating in the Kid Walk, and my 3rd year as a Solo Superhero, trying my best to raise the "team goal" of $1000 on my own!

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. They recruit, rigorously train, and support community volunteers who are advocating for abused and neglected children. When children are removed from their homes by Child Welfare Services due to abuse or neglect, they become part of an overburdened system.  Lawyers, social workers, and foster parents have serveral cases and kids competing for their time and attention.  A CASA gets to focus on just one child.

If you don't have the time to be a CASA, the second best thing you can do is donate. Make it possible for others to become CASAs Only 2 in 4 children who need a CASA get a CASA. Help us expand our training schedule, grow our support system, and increase volunteer advocate pool.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. No bake sales, no candle orders, no raffle tickets. It is the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Thank you VERY much for all of your support!
