Hello There ~
Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. The CP Kids Center has been a big part of my life since birth. My Physical Therapists, Bonny Folz, has been helping me develop my gross motor skills since I was two months old. Wow! I'll be 11 this December. The therapists from the Kids Center provided me physical, occupational, and speech therapy in my home for the first 3-years of my life and, for the past seven, I have been going to see them at the Kids Center once a week. It's the least I can do since they can help more kids if they can stay in one place all day.
They do a wonderful job and have been staunch advocates for me as my needs have changed over the years. They have helped me get specialized equipment like my power wheelchair. This allows me the freedom to navigate my home and school. Without it I would have to totally rely upon others to help me get around. I can't begin to tell you how empowered I feel when I turn the speed knob all the way up and go zipping through my yard, across the field to visit my Aunt Connie and Uncle Ronnie. Ms. Costello (my 4th grade teacher at Kenwood) doesn't think its too funny when I crank up the speed at school. She says something about by driving ability. I really don't know what she is talking about. I'm like my dad, I drive great, it's others who don't appreciate how good I do.
They have fought hard on my behalf when my insurance providers didn’t think I needed something that I really needed. You can't have too many helping hands when you face the challenges that my friends and I face on a daily bases. In fact, I have many friends who also benefit through the efforts of the Kids Center. Your donation to this fundraiser will help the CP Kids Center to continue to provide services and programs to children who, like me, face unique and special challenges because of their physical disabilities and who may not be as fortunate as me to have insurance that will pick up some of the tab. It cost a lot of money to help me and my friends.
As you can see, I am a good looking kid however, I am trapped inside a body that won't perform like other kids so I need a place like the Kid Center to help me develop the skills I need to become self sufficient. I am determined to do what I want to do and, to do it by myself. The therapists at the Kids Center are willing and capable of helping me accomplish whatever I put my mind to. That's pretty cool!
If you have the ability to donate to this fundraiser I would sincerely appreciate you helping me to raise money for these guys. They do a terrific job and believe me when I say this; we need your help.
OMG, how can you look at my cuteness and not want to reach for your checkbook? We make it easy to help so you really have no excuses.
Just follow the "SPONSOR ME NOW" prompt and. presto changeo, your donation is one it's way to help the Kids Center help me and my friends. It's a bueatiful thing and you can be a part of it.
Thank you so much for helping and I hope to see you this coming Saturday. My official team name is Sophie The Storm. I think my mom came up with that and I am pretty sure she meant it in a good way.
Thanks again and let’s Walk, Roll, or Ride on May 16th.
